《Constant Gaze》 CH 1 Wu Shijiu dragged his suitcase to stand under the shade of the tree. He had chewed the gum in his mouth until it had lost all taste, but the owner of the house still hadn¡¯t returned home. He walked down the length of the curb in one moment and went back to standing in the next, swaying from side to side, feet tapping to the rhythm of the music in his headphones, as the wind blew past his dyed flaxen hair still carrying the unabating heat of summer. He was thirsty, but still wanted to hold on for a while, biting down on his dry lips and releasing them with a ¡°pop¡±. CH 2 The suitcase was an oversized one, crammed full of Wu Shijiu¡¯s mom¡¯s maternal love, which he had nowhere to put, and the easy-going charm of someone delegating their responsibilities. This son, who was so aggravating even flowers wilted at the mere sight of him, had never done anything for his mother aside from making her even more stressed. Seeing he was soon going into his third year of high school, his hero mother and the boy¡¯s father (who had no chance to say anything other than conscientiously nod his head) went through three days and three nights of intense discussion, and had no choice but to part with their love. They kicked Wu Shijiu to an elite high school in the capital nicknamed ¡°The Prison¡±, and entrusted the son of a close friend to take care of him. CH 3 Just how rebellious was Wu Shijiu? The records his previous school had kept until now, which could be opened up and unfolded into a long line that would reach the ground, mentioned skipping class, getting into fights, disregarding authority, and being nonconformist and stubborn. Bringing this problem student up caused teachers and parents (including other family¡¯s parents) to get an awful headache. CH 4 Wu Shijiu waited for Xu Xing¡¯s answer for a long time, so he lowered his head and continued eating his cooling food in order to seem more level-headed and like he didn¡¯t really care. CH 5 Wu Shujiu, who acted as a lawless boy, didn¡¯t have to endure that beating, and the conspiracy theory he imagined didn¡¯t come true either ¡ª Over the weekend, when his mom called to say hi, Xu Xing answered the phone and spoke politely, saying all the things elders liked to hear. CH 6 Half a semester passed. Wu Shijiu hadn¡¯t established much affection for his new school, but his relationship with Xu Xing got friendlier and friendlier. CH 7 If he had to interpret it literally, Wu Shijiu would think that the meaning of ¡°being carried away by impulse¡± was that of a moment of blood rushing to the head which came and went quickly like the tide, an urge that was only maintained while the waves rushed ashore, but dispersed soon after, retreating until it disappeared. CH 8 In hindsight, Xu Xing wondered whether he had inadvertently mislead this sweet little bastard. On one hand, he felt that the ¡°rules¡± had been broken, but on the other, he felt it was natural, so he completely accepted Wu Shijiu¡¯s logic and kissed when he wanted it, it was reasonable and well-founded. CH 9 ¡ª¡ªWhat was the experience of craving someone like? CH 10 Rushing to not be late, Xu Xing drove the black car and forcefully brought Wu Shijiu on board to take him to school. The two people were agitated the whole way there. Xu Xing even smoked a cigarette, despite the fact he rarely did.
